Great selection of covers! Dan and the Caverns of Bone gets my vote. It was a close call between that and The Shadow's Lantern, but I love the colours on Dan and the Caverns of Bone that bit more. The Hollow City cover still creeps me out a bit! Must get round to reading the first book in that series asap.

Shadow Latern, for the very simple (if abstract) reason that the skeleton reminds me of one of my favourite little snippets of History. It reminds me of the Dance of Death, a medieval painted frieze that graced several European churches and is now left in fragments in only a few. It featured lots of skeletons dancing in between people from all walks of medieval society. It was painted at a time when medieval society was VERY class-orientated - if you were X class, you were essentially guaranteed to remain X class for the rest of your life and the different classes were very differentiated. When the Black Death came along though, it levelled the playing field - anyone, regardless of class and status, could snuff it. So the Dance of Death, with it's skeletons dancing between priests, peasants, kings, queens and merchants alike, was quite a powerful statement for the time. Still is really, even if all we have left are snippets.

Herendeth the lesson, this is why BooKa Uhu likes the Shadow's Latern cover!
