You are now in Mr Ripley's Book Cover War Zone....
Heat two has just recently come to an end. The close run winner was Conrad Mason's up and coming book cover for 'The Demon's Watch'. This cover received amazing 189 votes out of the 449 votes that were cast. Therefore, as a worthy winner it now finds itself in the final.
- Heat one winner - Ransom Rigg's - Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children - 104 Votes
- Heat two winner - Conrad Mason's - The Demon's Watch - 189 Votes
For any new or existing follower of this site this is the chance for you to become part of the weekly book cover wars. Each week (for the next 2 weeks) I am going to select four book covers for you to vote from. As a voter not only will you get the chance to choose your favourite book cover, but you will also be in with the chance to win a different special book each week.
The book competition winner from last week has been picked and has won a copy of the new proof by Jonathan Maberry - "Dead of the Night". The lucky winner is Michelle at MuchLovedBooks - I will be in touch with you for your postal details. Hope you enjoy reading it.
In order to kick off the competition this week we have yet another amazing book prize. This week it's an first edition hardback "Mr Stink" which is signed by David Walliams and by the illustrator Quentin Blake. This is a rare opportunity to add this edition to your book collection.

This was a no-brainer for me this time. David Wyatt's cover for The 13th Horseman is stunning and portrays the comedy/fantasy theme of the plot perfectly.
13th Horseman. It reminds me of early Discworld covers. That is a good thing.
Now if I could get my hands on a COPY of 13th Horseman I'd be happy. Love that cover! :D

Ah, I LOVE Book Cover Wars. Of course I'm going to say vote for mine, but let's be honest, the standard this week is utterly brilliant once again. Creating a strong cover is a vastly underrated artform, and this competition is a great way of drawing attention to it. Keep up the good work, sir, and may the best cover win.
Much tougher heat this time, but I voted for 13th Horseman, partly cos I'm a sucker for swords and horses, and partly cos it promises both excitement and humour.
The 13th Horseman. Great cover.
I went for Andy's book,I love the heat that comes off this cover but I also think the 13th Horseman is very strong. Am I allowed to vote twice?
Yep, I'm with the majority, and have gone for the 13th Horseman. It's a brilliant cover and makes me want to buy the book right now.
I was going to vote for Barry's too - but realised he never sent me a proof copy :( - guess I will just have to vote for the Lord of the Jungle... or Tommy's

13th Horseman wins in my eyes. I really like the typography for a start, it really stands out. The characterisation is excellent it hints of humour, adventure and scares. As a kid I always picked books by their cover, 13th Horseman would have definitely been picked!
